Tuesday 12th November - Frickley Athletic 1-3 Marine

The game was only given the go-ahead following a 2pm pitch inspection and the Blues were down to the bare-bones of the squad due to injuries and Mark Hancock's suspension.

The first chance of the game fell to Remo Nesa after 6 minutes when he seized on a flick on from Andy Evans to turn inside the Marine left-back but his low 18 yard shot was saved at the second attempt by Stewart. Marine then forced three corners, one of which Mark Samways had to punch over from under the crossbar. Marine's Dolan the got down the left and sent over a good cross which picked out Keegan but he sliced his shot into the air from a good position. The game itself was a scrappy affair, with both sides struggling to come to terms with the conditions and it took 18 minutes before the next goalmouth action when Curtis Bernard's persistence forced a corner. Then, on 35 minutes, Bernard headed well wide of the left hand post from a Ryan Williams cross. Chris Gown the saw his over-hit cross caught under the bar by Stewart whilst on 43 minutes Samways was lucky when he cleared a back-pass straight at  Black from just 5 yards out but the ball bounced out for a corner.

Just nine minutes into the second half the visitors took the lead. A deep cross from the left evaded Samways and Bainbridge headed in at the back post. Two minutes later a Marine defender let a long ball roll past him towards his keeper but Evans seized on it only for Stewart to race out of his goal and block with his legs. But on 58 minutes Marine produced an almost carbon copy of the first goal. A deep cross from the left picked out Bainbridge at the back post and he headed across goal for Black to score from almost on the line. This prompted the introduction of Nigel Henstock in place of Nesa and he helped to give the Blues more attacking options. On 65 minutes Lee Morris' cross from the left got the deftest of touched from Evans but Stewart saved easily. Then Samways was forced to push a 25 yard shot round the post before Keegan struck a 25 yard free-kick which Samways parried but Hussin followed up to knock into an empty net. On 84 minutes Black sent close to  scoring a great goal when Craig Marsh missed his tackle on half way, leaving Black to run at goal, shrug off Paul Marquis and shoot under Samways but Gowen got back to brilliantly clear off the line. The Blues did manage to pull a goal back on 85 minutes when Gowen sent over a great cross-field ball to pick out Henstock on the right. He sent over a great cross which EVANS headed back across goal and into the top right hand corner.
