Tuesday 14th November - Frickley Athletic 2-0 Leek Town

A goal in each half saw the Blues earn their second successive UniBond Premier Division victory with a 2-0 win over an impressive Lincoln United side. Martin Thacker volleyed the Blues into a 14th minute lead from the edge of the box before Danny Moore added the second on 73 minutes to steady the nerves as Lincoln had a large spell of pressure.

Billy Heath kept faith with the side that played the last hour of Saturday's win against Leek Town.

The Blues went ahead on 14 minutes when Steve Robinson's throw-in from the right was flicked on by Rob Pell for Thacker who expertly flicked the ball over a defender before driving a left-footed volley just inside the left hand post from 18 yards. (Click here for video clip)

Lincoln enjoyed spells of pressure and looked lively down both wings and they came close to grabbing an equaliser with just over an hour gone but Jon Hood reacted brilliantly to tip Sam Wilkinson's shot from close range over the bar following one of numerous Lincoln corners.

The Blues went 2-0 up on 73 minutes when Hood's long clearance was missed by Pell and his marker, allowing substitute Mark Ward to break clear. However, Ward's shot was brilliantly blocked by Ziccardi with MOORE picking the loose ball up on the edge of the box before curling superb shot just inside the right hand post.
