Saturday 10th January - Lancaster City 1-1 Frickley Athletic

Phil Sharpe stuck with the same 14 that did so well last week against Barrow and the Blues responded by gaining a point which moved them up two places to 18th.

Frickley went close in the 3rd minute when Lee Morris was fouled outside the box. Nick Richardson's free-kick was played in to Dan Sheriffe who flicked the ball over the bar. Lancaster's Peter Thomson saw his shot charged down by Jon Hood after 10 minutes but Frickley took the lead 5 minutes later when Lee Pugh's cross found SHERIFFE who nipped between the full-back and 'keeper Kevin Welsby to hit in first time volley into the net. Hood then saved well following a Lancaster corner as the Blues led at half time.

Dale Rimmington replaced Paul Marquis on 55 minutes and the home side started to force the pace. Hood smothered a low drive from Phil Clarkson on 57 minutes whilst Lancaster went close on the hour when Hood parried a cross over the bar. A minute later a foul by Phil Lindley led to a free-kick from which Lancaster equalised, with Farrell Kilbane's header bouncing up and into the net via the crossbar. Gary Hatto then replaced Mark Vickerage as the Blues were forced to absorb the home side's pressure. On 70 minutes a Lancaster free-kick was deflected off the wall but almost at the death Morris headed wide at the far post for the Blues.

The draw saw the Blues move up to 16th in the table, just a point away from the qualification position of 13th for Conference North and just 3 points from 8th place.
