Saturday 18th February - Frickley Athletic 2-1 Guiseley This match is available on DVD/Video - See Club Shop Matt Daly struck a dramatic 89th minute free-kick into the roof of the net from 22 yards to give the Blues a crucial victory over Guiseley this evening. Daly had earlier given the Blues a 37th minute lead only for Scott Jackson to equalise from the penalty spot 2 minutes later. Gary Marrow kept faith with the same side that were defeated by Gateshead on Saturday and the Blues came close to taking the lead within the first few minutes when Simon Collins brilliantly picked out Alex Callery on the right of the box but his angled shot was well blocked by the legs of Matthew Taylor. Peter Duffield then out-paced Daniel Ellis to get on the end of a Steve Robinson pass but he fired into the side netting from a tight angle. As the blues continued their impressive start to the game Collins put a low 25 yard shot just wide of the left hand post with Taylor well beaten. The Blues finally took the lead after 37 minutes when Lee Pugh's high ball into the box was flicked on by Daly to Duffield who turned and played the ball back to DALY who lashed a fierce shot past Taylor at his near post. Howeverm the lead lasted only two minutes as a clearance found Scott Jackson on half way and he played a great ball between Steve Kennedy and Robinson to release Matthew Smithard who broke into the box and went down under the challenge of Ingham as he came out to meet him. The referee immediately awarded the penalty and cautioned Ingham, with Jackson scoring from the spot. Guiseley started the second half the more lively of the two sides but the nearest they came to taking the lead was on the hour when Jackson sent substitute Chris Graham clear but Ingham pulled off a great save to block Graham's shot with an outstretched leg. Shortly afterwards Marrow introduced Adam in place of Rob Pell and immediately the Blues seemed to pose a more attacking threat. As time started to run out substitute Calum Selby tried his luck from 30 yards but the bgall just cleared the crossbar with Taylor at full stretch. With the game entering the lastg minute Woolford was bundled over 25 yards out and DALY stepped up to blast the ball past Taylor for the winner.
