Tuesday 6th September - Frickley Athletic 1-0 Farsley Celtic A solitary first half goal from Andy Evans was enough to continue the Blues unbeaten start to the season and earn the Blues three points. The win moved the Blues up to second in the table and also sees Frickley as the last unbeaten side in the UniBond Premier Division. With Leroy Chambers again unavailable Gary Marrow kept faith with the same side that won at Ashton United on Friday evening and the Blues started well, taking the game to he visitors. It was during this early spell of pressure when the Blues took the lead with ANDY EVANS heading in Alex Callery's left wing corner at the near post after 18 minutes. As the half wore on the visitors came more into the game and finished the half on top. The second half continued where the first left off with Farsley on top, although, for all their possession, they were largely failing to break the Blues' defence down to seriously trouble Gary Ingham. However, the Blues looked dangerous on the break, particularly with Martyn Woolford down the left, and had a few half chances to increase their lead. As the game entered the last few minutes Farsley really piled on the pressure but, their only real chance fell to James McDaid whose shot through a crowded box was cleared off the line by Matt Daly.
