Tuesday 23rd November - Bridlington Town 2-1 Frickley Athletic

With Steve Woolford and Neil Ashley absent due to work commitments Gary marrow was forced to reshuffle his line-up. Dean Foley returned after missing Saturday's game through suspension whilst Adam Russell cam in up front, with Richard Tracey moving out to the left. Steve Kennedy moved into midfield.

The Blues started brightly and were twice a little unfortunate not to be in front within the first 15 minutes. Firstly, on 9 minutes, Matt Moran broke down the left and cut into the box before squaring to the unmarked Russell whom completely miss-kick 12 yards out from goal Five minutes later a well-crafted free-kick on the left saw Calum Selby, Richard Tracey and Moran combine for Tracey to play the ball inside the right full-back and send Moran bearing down on goal but his angled shot was cleared for a corner. The flag kick was half cleared to Lee Pugh who intelligently played the ball out to Moran on the left. his cross was flicked on to Matt Daly whose powerful header was pushed against the bar by Bridlington 'keeper Nick Baxter. After this early flurry chances for both sides were very much at a premium with the next good chance coming from the home side on the stroke of half time. A free-kick glanced off Daly's head and fell to Paul Palmer whose angled shot beat Gary Ingham but was cleared off the line by Dean Foley.

The second half started with the home side on the offensive and they took the lead on 51 minutes. Palmer broke clear down the left and swept a cross over to the right where the ball was flicked back inside by Mike Cooper to Lee Harper who fired an angled shot past Ingham. The Blues equalised eight minutes later when Selby picked up the ball on half way and advanced forward before letting firing in a shot from 30 yards which Baxter took the sting out of but couldn't prevent the ball bouncing up and striking the bar before being knocked in by KENNEDY. Bridlington retook the lead on 72 minutes when a half cleared corner was fired goalwards through a crowded penalty area but Steve Robinson cleared off the line only for Carl Gibblin to fire the ball back in and this time the ball sailed into the bottom left hand corner. Gary Marrow introduced Stuart Preston and Tom Thornton but, although Preston tormented the Bridlington defence a couple of times the Blues were unable to create a clear cut chance to equalise. Four minutes from time the home side broke down the right and sent over a cross which Paul Wilson headed against the near post.
