Saturday 11th August - Bridlington Town 2-0 Frickley Athletic

Hit by a double blast early on, Frickley came back strongly in this friendly at Bridlington but were unable to convert their superiority into goals although they twice found the net.
The home side caught the Blues out in the seventh minute when Tom Greaves beat Jon Hood with a 20 yard volley and while the UniBond Premier side showed some promise, they fell further behind after 28 minutes when Greaves evaded a tackle from Dean Jones on the edge of the penalty area and placed another low shot on target. Five minutes later Jones was forced off through injury to be replaced by Craig Laight

Bridlington keeper Nick Baxter dropped a corner kick, leading to Lee Morris and Scott Turner both having shots blocked on the line, and a minute later Chris White had the ball in the net but was ruled off-side.

On the stroke of half-time, Morris sent Turner clear but he stabbed the ball wide as the keeper came racing out.

Two minutes after the break, White picked out Turner who made a good run down the right before hitting a shot which Baxter managed to turn round a post.

White cut in from the right himself in the 54th minute and struck a 20 yard shot which the Town keeper managed to parry and Richard Medcalf hit the rebound against the bar.

On the hour, Morris found himself clear, only to miskick the ball and put it wide of the target, Frickley kept up the almost one-way traffic, Nathan Hotte finding space on the left in the 72nd minute before passing to Chris White whose shot was deflected into the net, but the assistant referee ruled another Blues player was in an off-side position.

Ryan Morton put a probing pass from the halfway line in the 77th minute and it was snapped up by Medcalf. only for his strong shot to zip inches wide of the left hand post.
