Wayne Benn models the Blues' new kit for 2004/05

The Blues kicked off their pre-season matches against a strong Barnsley side who included numerous first teamers in their side, including recent signings Barry Conlon and Stephen McPhail.

Although the visitors enjoyed the majority of the possession the Blues managed to keep the Barnsley forward line at bay for much of the match. However, they did breach the home defence once in each half with goals coming from McPhail and Mark Stallard.

The closest the Blues came was a couple of headers from corners and a 20 yard shot from Lee Pugh which grazed the bar.
