19/08/08 - A 50th minute strike from Lee Morris was enough to see the Blues emerge as 1-0 victors over Whitby Town in a closely fought contest at Westfield Lane this evening. Adam Nicklin and his Whitby counterpart Ben Escritt both pulled off a series of excellent saves to keep their respective teams in the match Report to follow...

16/08/08 - The Blues kicked off their UniBond Premier Divison season with a richly deserved 1-1 draw at Witton Albion and will probably be a little disappointed at not taking all three points. Rod Thornley took advantage of same poor defending to head the home side ahead following a 14th minute corner but Rob Pell (left) equalised twenty minutes later with a powerful header. Lee Morris, Chris Davies and Adam Lee went close to grabbing a winner for the Blues. Click here

15/08/08 - Thursday night's Frickley lottery numbers were 1, 9, 11, 12, 13 & 17. There were no winners so next Thursday's Jackpot is £650 with numbers 1 to 17 available for selection.  

12/08/08 - Manager Billy Heath has added two more signings to his squad. Calum Selby has re-joined the Club after initially signing for Ossett Town following his return from a season playing for Kissos FC in cyprus. Also, defender/midfielder Scott Brough has signed from Lincoln United. Brough has previously had a month's loan at Frickley a couple of seasons ago whilst at Barrow and has also played for Buxton and Scunthorpe United.

09/08/08 - The Blues lost their final pre-season friendly match 2-0 to Retford United at Westfield Lane this afternoon. The game was deadlocked until the last five minutes when, following numerous substitutions, a makeshift defence conceded two quick goals. Click here 

09/08/08 - Thursday night's Frickley lottery numbers were 1, 5, 7, 14, 16 & 18. There were no winners so next Thursday's Jackpot is £600 with numbers 1 to 18 available for selection.  

05/08/08 - The Blues gave their best performance of pre-season to comfortably defeat a young Doncaster Rovers XI 4-0 this evening. Rob Pell opened the scoring after 13 minutes whilst Neil Towler added a second on 55 minutes. Chris Davies curled in a 20 yard free-kick a minute later and Adam Lee added a fourth on 88 minutes. 02/08/08 - A weakened Blues' side bounced back from Tuesday evening's defeat to Brigg Town with a deserved 3-2 win at Goole AFC this afternoon. Dean Wilburn scored the first and third goals whilst Rob Pell notched the second. Click here 

29/07/08 - The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat away at UniBond First Division South side Brigg Town this evening. The only goal came after 13 minutes from Rick Day. Click here

27/07/08 - The Blues were forced to settle for a draw in yesterday's pre-season friendly against Selby Town at Westfield Lane. Rob Pell put the Blues ahead only for Selby to equalise early in the second half. Click here

27/07/08 - Goals from Lee Morris and Dean Wilburn so the Blues see off the challenge of Scarborough Athletic in the pre-season friendly of Saturday 19th July. Click here

16/07/08 - Billy Heath has added a further signing to his squad as Antony Jackson put pen to paper to return to Westfield Lane. Twenty seven year old Jackson is well known to most Frickley fans having having spent 2002/03 and 2003/04 seasons with the Blues before moving to Worksop Town. 

16/07/08 - Fielding a different side in each half, the Blues lost 1-0 to a York City XI in last night's opening pre-season friendly at Westfield Lane. Click here for more details

13/07/08 - Two more of last season's squad have re-signed for the new season with Steve Robinson and Steve Heath putting pen to paper on non-contract forms. Robinson, however, will miss the opening two games of the season due to a suspension carried over from last season but the news that Heath is likely to be fully fit for the start of the season is a tremendous boost to the Club. Heath is recovering extremely well following the removal of a cancerous tumour towards the end of last season and is taking full part in pre-season training.

10/07/08 - Frickley Athletic FC are delighted to announce a new Official Partner for Season 2008/2009 after linking up with York based financial brokerage Tech5. Tech5 will become the Club's merchandise sponsor. Click here

07/07/08 - The UniBond League have released the fixtures for the coming season with the Blues visiting Witton Albion on the opening day, Saturday 16th August. Whitby Town visit Westfield Lane on Tuesday 19th with Marine being the visitors 4 days later. Click here for full fixture list.

01/07/08 - The draws for the early rounds of the FA Competitions have been drawn today with the Blues being drawn at home to Cheadle Town or Newcastle Town or Skelmersdale United in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup sponsored by E.On and being drawn at home to Nantwich Town in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Carlsberg Trophy. 

27/06/08 - Following on from the sad news of Frank Hill's passing away earlier this week, Frank's funeral will be held on Friday 4th July at 10am at St. Mary's Church and then on to the crematorium at 11am.

25/06/08 - More of last season's squad have put pen to paper for the coming season with Chris Hilton, Chris Gowen and Scott Turner all signing non-contract forms. Also signing is 18 year old midfielder Jacob White who has been released from Barnsley FC's academy.

24/06/08 - It is with regret that Frickley Athletic report the passing away of groundsman Frank Hill. Frank was 71 years of age and has been a familiar figure at the ground for many years. He will be sorely missed by everyone at the Club.

15/06/08 - The 2007/08 Season Review DVD is now available, priced £6 (plus P & P). The DVD features 40 minutes of home highlights including every goal from competitive matches at Westfield Lane last season. They will be on sale from the Club Shop at the pre-season friendlies or available to order by e-mail from steve@pennocks.freeserve.co.uk.  

10/06/08 - Manager Billy Heath has begun signing many of last season's squad on non-contract forms to add to the five contracted players of Lee Morris, Danny Walsh, Dean Jones, Rob Pell and Chris White. To date Jon Hood, Jonathan Groome, Neil Towler, Chris Davies, Phil Lindley, Adam Nicklin, Adam Pollock, Darren Barrick, Ashley Vickers and Dean Wilburn have all re-signed whilst Heath has also secured the signature of defender Michael Gibson from Hall Road Rangers and forward Adam Lee from Ilkeston Town.
